Notifications and digests
Choose which CookieBeam events reach you in the dashboard and by email, send events to Slack, and set up the review digest email.
CookieBeam tells you about events in your team in three places: the notification bell in the dashboard, email, and Slack. You only receive notifications for areas your permissions let you see. A notification about a banner only reaches members who have access to that banner.
The notification bell
The bell at the top of the dashboard shows unread notifications for the team you are working in. Open it to read them, select Mark all as read, or follow Notification settings.
Choose what you receive
Open Notifications in the dashboard sidebar. For each event, choose a setting for In-app and for Email:
- Immediately sends each notification as it happens.
- Daily digest (email only) collects notifications into one email a day, sent at 08:00 UTC.
- Off stops that channel for the event.
Events are grouped by area:
| Area | Event | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Consent | Banner outcome alert: a banner stopped showing or collecting choices in a region, compared with its usual level | In-app |
| Privacy requests | Privacy request submitted through your privacy portal | In-app |
| Privacy requests | Privacy request deadline approaching: an open request is due within three days | In-app and email |
| Privacy requests | Privacy request overdue | In-app and email |
| Administration | Webhook endpoint disabled after repeated delivery failures | In-app and email |
Events marked Coming soon are listed but not sent yet. Deadline, overdue and security events cannot be put in the daily digest: choose Immediately or Off for them.
Separately from these settings, security alerts about your own account and essential billing emails are always sent and cannot be turned off.
Team defaults
The team owner can set defaults for the whole team. On the Notifications page, switch Settings to edit from My notifications to Team defaults. Team defaults apply to every member who has not chosen their own setting.
Slack
The team owner can send selected events to a Slack channel through a Slack incoming webhook.
- Create an incoming webhook in Slack for the channel.
- On Notifications, under Slack channels, select Add Slack channel.
- Enter a name and the webhook URL. Only URLs starting with
https://hooks.slack.com/services/are accepted. The URL is stored encrypted and is not shown again. - Choose the events to send.
- Select Send test to check the connection.
If Slack keeps rejecting messages, the channel is disabled. Fix the webhook and select Re-enable.
Review digest email
The review digest is a separate, team-wide email about new unclassified cookies and scripts found on your sites. It is on the Team page, under Review digest email.
- Choose Weekly or Monthly, or Off.
- For a weekly digest, choose the day of the week. For a monthly digest, choose a day from 1 to 28.
- Select Save changes.
Only the team owner can change it. It needs a plan that includes drift alerts, which is Starter and above.
Product updates
Emails about new features are a personal preference. Turn Product Updates on or off on Account settings → Preferences.
